Dr. Tobias Zimmermann

Tobias Zimmermann has been working as senior associate for road freight transport at Agora Verkehrswende since August 2026 and focuses on topics related to the decarbonization of freight transport, such as the transition to climate-compatible propulsion systems, the charging infrastructure, and the corresponding political framework.

From 2022 to 2026, Tobias Zimmermann conducted his PhD research on the transformation of the auto industry, focusing on the consequences of restructuring for workers in transatlantic comparison. During this time, he was a research associate and a teaching fellow at the School of Business & Economics at Freie Universität Berlin, as well as a fellow at the Yale MacMillan Center and a visiting researcher at the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations. From 2013 to 2021, he was a manager in KPMG's public sector consulting practice in Berlin, and prior to that, a research associate in the Workgroup for Infrastructure Policy at Technische Universität Berlin. He completed his studies in economics at the University of Münster and at San Diego State University.
