Launch of new European think tank network to transform transport

4T for Europe will pool international expertise and develop policy recommendations / Climate action in transport presents a significant opportunity to advance economic prosperity, social equity and European strategic autonomy

Eleven think tanks from ten European countries have joined forces to establish Think Tanks for Transforming Transport in Europe (4T for Europe). The network aims to support the transport sector’s transformation towards climate neutrality by mid-century. To this end, the member organisations will pool knowledge and expertise, particularly in the field of electric mobility, in order to develop policy recommendations for decision-makers at the national and European levels. According to the network’s founding declaration, the transition to climate neutrality in transport represents an opportunity to advance social equity, economic prosperity and European strategic autonomy.

The members of 4T for Europe are: Agora Verkehrswende, Germany; Alinnea, Spain; Centre for Transport and Energy / Centrum pro dopravu a energetiku (CDE), Czech Republic; Concito, Denmark; Ecco, Italy; Institute Mobilités en Transition, France; The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), Germany; Polskie Stowarzyszenie Nowej Mobilności / New Mobility Association (PSNM), Poland; The Norwegian EV Association / Norsk elbilforening, Norway; New Automotive, United Kingdom; and Slovak Electric Vehicle Association (SEVA), Slovakia.

The network’s initial projects will address the social dimensions of electric mobility, strategies to finance the transformation, and tax and industrial policy.
