Johannes Oetjen

Project Manager, International Climate and Transport Policy

Johannes Oetjen joined Agora Verkehrswende in June 2023. He is primarily concerned with the question of how to expand and accelerate the ramp-up of electric mobility globally in road transport. His work focuses on the cooperation of Germany with countries of the Global South where vehicle fleets are rapidly expanding – particularly in Africa. In this connection, he supports international cooperation aimed at developing sustainable value chains and scaling up the market deployment of battery electric vehicles.

Previously, Johannes worked at the Paris consultancy CNTVRS on the political and strategic positioning of companies in the transport and energy sectors. He has experience in the practical design of sustainable transport policies, based on prior collaboration with the French environmental agency ADEME. Johannes has also worked for the news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) in Berlin. Johannes holds a B.A. (hons) in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin and an M.A. (cum laude) in European Affairs from Sciences Po Paris.
